What are the different ways to use call tracking?
Call tracking can be set up at different levels of detail:
- Basic tracking (static numbers): One phone number per marketing channel to see where calls come from. Insights are limited.
- Campaign-level tracking (static numbers): Assign a unique number to each campaign, such as PPC ads, flyers, or business cards. This tracks last-click conversions, but not the full customer journey.
- Visitor-level tracking (Dynamic Number Insertion / DNI): A unique tracking number is served via a lightweight JS snippet and assigned to each visitor across all their sessions. You see every channel, keyword, and campaign they interact with before calling, giving you a complete view of the customer journey and accurate visitor-level attribution across inbound and outbound calls.
