Vacancy: PHP Developer

We’re currently looking for a talented PHP Developer to build new systems for use by our customers and staff including developing new client requested features and improving current systems.

The role

This role will involve building new systems for use by our customers and staff including developing new client requested features and improving current systems. It is the perfect role for someone who is currently a PHP developer and is looking to take the next step in their career.
Your time will be spent on product development as part of the SCRUM development team or carrying out tech-support duties as part of the development team rota.

For this role, you must be forward thinking, have an eye for detail and innovative as you will be driving our market leading product forward according to our customer’s needs. It’s a great opportunity to work on market leading technology.

Key responsibilities

  • Software development on our core internal and external software products
  • Involvement with future architecture and process planning within the team
  • Provide technical support and training to other departments and customers
  • Day-to-day support issues

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • At least 1 years commercial PHP development experience
  • Experience of building complex web based applications, not just websites
  • Experience with front end development (Javascript, HTML and CSS)
  • Ability to hand code MySQL with an emphasis on performance
  • The candidate must have a high attention to detail and a willingness to take ownership of development tasks
  • Understanding of SCRUM development practices
  • Ability to produce high quality, well tested code to specification with minimal guidance
  • Able to review the work of others to ensure high standards are maintained
  • Experience with version-control systems such as SVN or GIT

Desirable:

  • Sysadmin experience and ability to maintain a Red Hat LAMP server
  • Proven ability to understand complex user requirements and translate them to simple user stories
  • Previous experience of prioritising to ensure delivery of complex products on-time
  • Experience with Vue as a front-end framework
  • An understand of cloud hosting such as AWS
