Call recording FAQ’s
Do I have to inform incoming callers that calls are recorded?
Yes, placing a message on your website or on your telephone messaging stating that call recording is taking place will suffice.
If I am making outbound telephone calls do I have to inform the recipients that the calls are being recorded?
If you intend to share the contents of the call with a third party then you must inform the caller you are recording the call.
Do I have to inform employees that calls are being recorded?
Yes, in writing and preferably within a contract stating the reasons why the business uses call recording.
Can I record credit card information during a telephone call?
No. You must pause the recording whilst this information is being taken and resume the call after the information has been given to you. The Mediahawk call recording system allows for this and by pressing 00 to pause the recording and any key to resume.
