Five quick tips: How to hone your next marketing campaign

1. Add a strong call to action with a choice of response mechanisms. Telephone, email and web form are the most popular. If you tell your propects what you want them to do they are more likely contact you. If you leave off a strong call to action, the prospect will remain passive and you may not hear from them.

Use a call tracking telephone number to capture how many calls you get.

2. Find out what time of day, week day or time of year your responses have been the highest. If you have found your responses low on a certain day or season, try re-allocating this spend to the busier season to increase your enquiries. The same method applies to location. If your prospects are all coming from certain locations or mainly towns rather than rural areas, try boosting your spend into these more successful locations.

Get location data on your prospects.

3. Find out which advertising is generating the most sales conversions. Telephone enquiries may be easier to convert than web enquiries as telephone prospects seem to be less tentative and more ready to buy. If this is the case, find out which ads are producing this kind of prospect and move your budget to support this type of activity.

Work out cost per lead and get an accurate picture of ROI.

4. Test your next campaign on a small sector of your database. Send out two types of material and find out which one has received the biggest response. This activity is particularly worthwhile if you want to find out which subject line for an email campaign will work the best. If you are using pay per click advertising, try different advert content and call to action for a few days to find out what your targets will respond to.

Try call tracking free to measure your next campaign.

5. Is your marketing location based? Try marketing to specific areas using geographic telephone numbers. Your targets may respond better to a locally marketed company and you should see your enquiry numbers increase.

Geographic telephone numbers.
